A Guarantor co-signs on a rental, and is considered a co-applicant, but not a co-occupant. Please note, each adult applicant is required to submit a separate application/file and pay a separate fee.
This article provides helpful general information about the Guarantor application process. Please consult with your leasing agent for specific company policies or rental property details.
Invite to Apply
A Guarantor must be added as a co-signer by the occupant on the occupant's application. See Add a Roommate or Guarantor to an application.
After a Guarantor is added by the occupant, they will receive a notification with a link to apply. Guarantors should only use the invite link they were sent in order to begin and submit their Guarantor application.
By creating an account through the invite link, the Guarantor is then associated with the correct occupant and correct application process. Find additional helpful tips on Group Applications here.
Application Process
As a co-signer, the Guarantor application process will similarly ask for Personal, Tenancy, Employment and Background Information. The general Guarantor process will not ask occupant specific questions such as pet information.
If applicable, after creating an account a Guarantor will also be presented with company specific Rental Criteria. For questions related to the company Rental Criteria, please contact your leasing agent/property owner directly.
