Not Enough Data means the applicant's identity has been verified, they passed TransUnion's IDV security step, and the credit report has been returned, but the applicant does not have enough credit data for TransUnion to generate a credit score. TransUnion calls this a 'thin file'.
This may be due to a couple of reasons,
1. The applicant has never used their credit or has very little credit history. This is typical of applicant's close to the age of 18 years old. Agent's should check the applicant's date of birth.
2. The applicant has a new social security number and has never used their credit or has very little credit history. Agent's should understand if the applicant has a newly issued social security number.
Clicking on Not Enough Data will take you to the renter's TransUnion credit report, or you can click on the renter resume to view the report together with the application.
*The credit report may still have identifiers such as a previous address or employment reported to the bureau.
